Friday finishes limply

Today was primarily devoted to the freelance work. (Had to make up for taking time off yesterday for medical stuff.) Did a nice chunk of it, too.

Then took the girl off to sell Girl Scout cookies at a cookie booth.

Didn’t start getting words until after she was in bed, so … yeah, not the best day.

Not my best day, but not my worst, either. And the weekend’s ahead! Good? Bad? We’ll see!

Thursday slips again

But for a good reason. I’ve been feeling sluggish and short of breath, and I’m prone to bronchitis. So I went to the doctor this morning, which between the appointment and the pharmacy took a chunk out of my day. Also, um, didn’t do the exercises today, but I’m pleading health.

The good news is that I actually went before it turned to bronchitis this time. I’m hoping that means it’ll be knocked out quickly by the medication.

Oh, and daughter pointed out to me how lovely the sunset was tonight, with the crisp line where the light fell, making the trees look like it was still autumn.

Wednesday feels ahead of the game

Much better writing day today. I wanted to go ahead and post now because the evening is devoted to the Brownie meeting — and I won’t be able to either write or read during the meeting this week, as we will be discussing Girl Scout Cookie Sales. (Can I interest you in the new flavor, S’Mores?)

Anyway, good progress today, and the end game (well, the last quarter of the book) is now being set into motion. Very excited!

Tuesday is only slightly more timely

Not enough sleep (my own fault, as usual). Left me slightly unfocused today. Did go get my mammogram done. I like this facility — always friendly and quick, and although there are some awkward twinges from the positions I have to hold, I don’t find it painful at all.

Blaming the lack of exercise on the tired. Tomorrow, no excuse.

Monday is running a day behind

… which is to say, I did my Monday words, but I got to bed so late, and was busy so early today, that I never posted my stats blocks for Monday.

Not happy to realize I’ve been so many days without exercising. I’ll have to fix that.

*No just for fun reading, but I did proofread a complete novella.

Now, I must go get words for today (Tuesday)!

A day of mostly rest

I did laundry today. Made my shopping list but didn’t go out. Drifted off into a nap late afternoon.

Words written today: 107

Yep, that’s it. No other stats. I’ll pick up again tomorrow.

Two weeks in

snow falling on dogwoodToday went better than expected, mostly because there was a power outage last night. Sounds weird? Very early this morning, there was the power outage, so I shut down the computer and turned off the UPS. When our daughter got up this morning, she didn’t know how to turn it back on, so she went downstairs instead, leaving the computer to me for the day.

Not a bad day at all!

Good luck Friday

Okay, yes, posting this early Saturday morning, but I don’t care. Haven’t been to sleep, so it still counts for Friday.

Tired and grumpy today. Grumpy, grouchy, grunchy. So I didn’t exercise or meditate. I did copyedit another article, though, and I hit a good run of words. Hoping to keep that up over the weekend, but we shall see.

Tired Thursday

I did get the article copyedited and the pictures printed and picked up. Not so great on the words, though, and I’m trying not to dwell on being almost a week behind where I want to be.

Going to bed early tonight.

Wacky Wednesday

Two-hour delay for the schools, plus testing that my son doesn’t have to do, so he’s home all day, plus hunting for a set of pictures for the timeline my daughter’s doing in school only to discover I have to jump through hoops to convert an old photo library to something useful plus figure out how to save a still from a movie as an image file, and getting my daughter’s Brownie uniform set with badges … I barely got to the paying work today and felt like tearing out my hair trying to figure out if the authors are making a meaningful distinction between no-crack and non-crack, or if that’s just inconsistency.

I did eventually get words, at least a few. I’d like to say I’ll get more tomorrow. But first I need to finish that copyediting and order photo prints over at Walgreens from the digital files.

Not sure of the pages read — I grabbed a library book on my way out the door to take my daughter to Brownies. Read a chunk. Am enjoying it. Might even get it finished before it’s due.

Now, as Katie Scarlett said, tomorrow is another day.
