Slowly getting better

Had to do grocery shopping today because we were out of milk. I forgot how much I hate shopping on Super Bowl Sunday. I also apologize to anyone who picked up my germs, though I tried not to get too close to actual people.

Also swung by the nearest Walgreens to pick up some necessaries so I can skip doing laundry for another couple of days. Maybe by Tuesday I’ll feel up to carting around baskets of clothes.

The shopping was most of my energy for the day. Also, to try to prevent spreading these germs, I’m at home on the couch while the rest of the family went off to a pre-game party. They’ll probably be home in an hour or so because of the girl’s bedtime.

Meanwhile, I read some and I wrote some. Wrote more than I expected, really, but I saw how close I was to getting the first 5,000 words of this book, so pushed a bit. If I’d known how close I was to 45,000 for the year, I’d’ve pushed more. (This is the secret behind most of my high word count days — have two or three different target numbers I can alternate between getting the next round number on.)

  1. That is a very nice trick. I should start paying attention to what number I’m close to before I start writing, as I imagine this would work for me as well.

    I hope you’re feeling even better today than yesterday. {{hugs}}

    • I hope the trick works well for you!

      Feeling better at the moment. Morning tends to be best, as I’ve just rested. We’ll see how I am by midafternoon.

  2. It’s annoying, among many other things, how much energy the simplest tasks require … may we both find our stamina again, soon! 😀
