    Because of high winds, the show from Sparks was delayed about an hour. No pictures.

      It’s funny — it was windy here in the afternoon while we were at a barbecue, and I mentioned something about decreasing the charges . . . and this other woman said she thought if anything, they’d make the fireworks go higher, to give the bits time to cool and move them away from the city. Why, no, she didn’t grow up in a desert; the closest she’s been is when she lived in Eugene for a while (which, of course, is on the green side of Oregon, toward the coast).
