Cream puffs

I don’t usually post recipes here, but I made these on Saturday — not the first time I’ve made them, either. We used to eat the shells with a savory filling while I was growing up. It occurred to me that it’s been years since I made them, so I indulged this weekend.

I tweeted the steps because Kelly Robson was impressed when I said I was going to make them, so I told her they’re really simple and I would tweet the steps. Then I signed up for Storify so I could post them here to my blog. (Oh, yeah, and I followed a ton of people on Storify whom I already follow on Twitter. I don’t know what that means yet, really.)

Here we go:

So today, I’m grateful for a family where I grew up cooking, basic cookbooks that I still love, friends who remind me of old favorites, and (of course) cream puffs. What are you grateful for today?

  1. Awesome. They look wonderful. Much better than the batch I tried when I was 14. Enjoy.

Those look yummy! So much of the stuff you mention cooking and baking sounds so delicious I wish I could visit you to try the dishes (because you manage to make stuff I’ve never tried or never wanted to try sound good).

  3. I grew up with my dad’s stories about a dragon that loved creampuffs. I didn’t have much opportunity to have the real thing though :). Colin makes eclairs now…and I suffer ;).
