I look at this and all I see are the errors, especially with the head and arms. Any grace is from the picture I based the sketch on.

Sam was curled up on some blankets, so I started to do a simple pen-and-paper sketch. He moved after a couple minutes, so it’s only a rough sketch.

Metal nib, green ink. Ink spreads nicely in the paper for this purpose, I think.

Today, I experimented with some calligraphy/drawing ink I have, plus some gum arabic, and the same pens I’ve been using. Note to self: pen over gum arabic doesn’t work well. Still, I think it turned out rather well.
