Yellow haze

Okay, so I haven’t actually seen the billowing clouds of pollen coming off trees that I have some years. But it’s definitely there and coating everything. Witness the photos!

Yes, that yellow dust on everything is pollen. Every morning, I have to clean my windshield to see out of it clearly. And this is what I’m expected to breathe?

That aside, I did some errands and some SFWA things, and it was a good day for writing. Tomorrow, I must get more editing in.

  1. Great words! That is an awful lot of pollen on the windows, though. Heck.

    • Thanks.

Yeah. Both this year and last year, I’ve read articles about how it’s not our imagination, the pollen really is worse, and with global warming trends, we can expect it to keep getting worse. Next year, I might see about starting allergy shots. On the one hand, that’s three to five years of treatment. On the other, I could look forward to eventually being able to leave the house in spring. 😛

  2. We haven’t reached that stage here yet, but I’m dreading it.

    • I understand that the new style antihistamines (Allegra, Zyrtec, etc.) are actually more effective if you start taking them before you’re confronted with the allergens. So you might try to be prepared? Good luck!
