Thank goodness

It’s Friday. Which doesn’t mean anything in terms of writing, since my aim is to write every day this year, but it does mean that I don’t have to be up before the crack of dawn tomorrow, and I don’t have to think about freelance work for a couple of days.

Still sick. I almost gave my main character a cold today so that I could do all the “My eyes hurt, my face hurts, why do I still have to do thiiiings?” whining and let it count as words.

Words written today: 600
Words written this month: 3,133
Words written 2017: 43,648
Average words/day 2017: 1,044
Books completed 2017: 1
Pages read: 0
Books read 2017: 1
Exercise reps: 0

Okay, I seriously need to focus this weekend. My average count is close to half my goal, and it keeps slipping. *sigh* Hopefully, I’ll feel well enough to do so, although I’m not betting on it.

So, what I’m looking forward to this weekend: sleep and maybe starting to feel better. What are you looking forward to?

  1. I totally would have given my character a cold. That was absolutely hilarious! Although I do hope you feel better soon.

    • Maybe she’ll get a cold in the next book. 😀 My son says I’m meaner to her than I’ve ever been to another character. Must mean the writing is getting better, right?

      Thanks, Nicki!

  2. I hope you feel better very soon.

    • Thanks, David.

Honestly, I feel guilty whining about a head cold that I know I should be over within a week or two (barring bronchial complications) when you’ve been sick for so long and another friend unexpectedly lost her husband this week and there are so very many people who have it so much worse. I tell myself that acknowledging I’m not feeling well does not diminish my empathy for what others are experiencing. Maybe it helps?
