Coming attractions

My friend Alex Fayle came up with a wonderful idea for a Merry-Go-Round Blog Tour (no posts there yet). Each month, the participants will blog on the same topic, each on a different day. We’ll post on our own blogs, with links to the tour and to those posting before and after us, so people can follow the tour. I think the plan is to start for July, so I’ll let you all know what day to expect my words of wisdom — or words, anyway.

The other thing I’m planning to do is another A to Z blog series, since I had such fun with the one in April. This time, the plan is to post once a week, beginning July 2. Topic will be women science fiction and fantasy authors. Obviously, I’m not going to do every author with a given initial, so I may choose some other method to narrow it down. I’m open to suggestions.

I may also try to get back to weekly Q&A posts, too. It’s been a while since I did those.

The idea is to get some regular content going here, in addition to all these random, “Oh, hey, I ought to tell people about that” posts.

  1. The blog Merry-go-round sounds like fun. I’m tempted to join in but I’m worried I might not be able to keep up with it. I’m still a bit burned out after all the A to Z posting/commenting/visiting.

I like your idea for the A to Z revisit, and the theme you’ve picked. If I do the traditional A to Z next year (I probably will) I’ve been thinking of doing literary characters I like. Well and probably some TV/movie characters as well. I’m looking forward to seeing what authors you blog about. I’m sure that will probably give me ideas of books to add to my to-read list.

    • I figure one post a month isn’t too much of a strain to add — and I am, at best, a sporadic commenter. But if you don’t want to do it now, I’m pretty sure there’s room for you to jump in later.

I’m looking forward to doing the revisit, honestly, but I think I’m going to wind up posting like 3-4 authors every day anyway. I was thinking about B last night, and I could almost do A to Z first names of women SF/F authors with a last name beginning with B — Aliette de Bodard, Beth Bernobich, Elizabeth Bear, L. A. Banks, Lois McMaster Bujold, Marion Zimmer Bradley — and that’s just off the top of my head.

  2. Yes, the plan so far is for July. I’m looking forward to it! Great ideas for the other stuff. My blog is kind of on hold as I figure out what I want to post.

    • Thanks for organizing it! This should be a lot of fun.

Good luck sorting out what you want to post.
